For those of you who already know which miter saw you want and just looking for a great deal – we have something for you just here:
Which Makita Miter Saw Should You Buy
As there are several miter saws sold by Makita deciding which to buy may not be that easy. Although if you know what are your needs in terms of jobs you are going to undertake you are more likely to get the right tool more quickly.
There are a couple of factors that might affect your choice. All Makita miter saws are compound saws meaning they have ability to cut both miters and bevels – of course their range & single/double bevel ability depends on a model. Also you have a choice of a fixed and sliding miter saw. So to conclude these are the features you need to consider:
- blade size
- fixed or sliding
- single or dual bevel
- others like stand, laser etc.
Blade size of course will affect the size of jobs and projects the saw can handle. At the same time bigger the saw the less portable it becomes, so if you require a saw that you can use at different sites and move around quite often then you might want to choose a smaller option.
Bear in mind that Makita introduced DXT technology when building their miter saws which helped to increase the cutting capacity at the same reducing the size – 10″ miter saw can handle cuts of 12″ saw. See short introduction video below:
On the other hand if you intend to use miter saw in your workshop and you’re not limited by its size you might want to choose bigger blade size and also sliding feature which will allow you to cut miters and bevels with much more ease as you will avoid moving around the cutting material. Also the miter saw stand might come handy here.
So as you see it all depends on your needs and environment you work in. Then let’s have a look at what Makita miter saw models are available.
Below you can see the basic features & specs of all the models that are currently produced by Makita. There are more models still available on the marketplace but some of them have been discontinued – that’s why these haven’t been included.

Other Makita Miter Saws Reviews – End Users Feedback
As usual we had looked into what other buyers are saying about their experiences with Makita miter saws. And as usual the opinions vary, but we have noticed one product that outshines every other and that is Makita LS0714 – more than 20 reviewers expressed their opinions giving the average rating of 5 out of 5!!!
We understand that this product might not be right choice for everybody, but if you need a miter saw for finish work then it’s the perfect choice for you.
The other product ratings are between 4 and 4.5, so it’s still an indication of a good, solid product. The negative opinions happen and will do and if you have enough patience to go through them you’ll see that big part of them are really not associated with the quality of the product but customer service, shipping problems etc.
If you are still undecided then see our Dewalt miter saw review – just as an alternative.
