Of course there are other models still available for purchase but they will be around until retailers go out of stock, so that’s why will be concentrating solely on the above one.
These saws are types of portable table saws as they small & light enough to carry them to a jobsite. If you’re looking especially for such portable solution you might want to consider an alternative to Makita table saw: Makita SP6000K Plunge circular saw (see below video to find out more).

What Others are Saying
Unfortunately there aren’t many reviews around on Makita 2705 table saws to be able to provide some objective conclusions. During our research we found several reviews for 2705X1 and you can find some of them below. Average rating this saw gets is 4 out of 5 stars:
“This saw has plenty of power (over a 1,000 rpm higher than dewalt or bosch) and is the only job site saw that has the cutting capacity and power to cut 4x material in one pass.”
“Pros. Legendary Makita Power. The saw will actually rip a 4×4 in half in one pass, and not just with a new blade.
Cons. Rip fence. While improved its still a long way from Dewalts. This was one of my biggest hangups with buying this saw. THe dewalt has a much better rock solid fence. If only they had the makita power, Id be writing a Dewalt review.”
